Security Specialist at the National Board of Institutional Care
The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we are about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with approximately 4000 employees.
Job Description
Do you want to contribute to the development of security work in an authority with an important mission? We are now launching an initiative to further develop and strengthen national security work. Against this background, we are looking for several new employees for our security department. The department is characterized by a professional approach, collaboration, and a clear focus on development. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an operation with significant societal benefit, where security work is an integral part of the authority's mission.
As a security specialist, you will play a central role in the development of security work throughout SiS. You will provide advisory and supportive services to managers and employees on issues related to security, risk management, and incident preparedness. The work involves close collaboration with our special youth homes and LVM homes and support departments.
In the role of security specialist focusing on security training, you will be responsible, together with other security trainers, for the development, planning, and implementation of the authority's training programs in security, conflict management, crisis management, and instructorship. You will also work on quality assurance and follow-up of training and standardization. In addition to your training responsibilities, other incidents/serious events within the department are included, such as developing guidelines and standards and conducting follow-ups in the security area.
The position is located in the section for operational and personal protection, which belongs to the authority's security department. The section is responsible for providing support and guidance for security work at the homes and headquarters. In addition to support and guidance, the section is responsible for crisis preparedness and continuity planning as well as risk and vulnerability work. We also work with personal protection and employee protection, as well as the development and implementation of internal investigations.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant academic education or other post-secondary education, preferably in the field of security or another area that SiS deems equivalent
- Experience in training in conflict management in both de-escalating communication and physical techniques and methods, as well as other training in the security field
- Experience in developing training programs, preferably in the security field
- Experience in developing, implementing, and following up on working methods and routines in the security area
- Experience in case handling and investigative work
- Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Experience working in a government authority, preferably in a custodial setting
- Experience in risk and security assessment and handling incidents/serious events
- Knowledge and experience in technical and physical security
- Experience in project management or similar change management
- A valid driver's license as the position involves travel
To thrive in this role, you need to have a genuine commitment to SiS's mission and a very good ability to collaborate both internally and externally. You have a humble and unpretentious approach and contribute to a good work environment. You are driven, take initiative, and can see new perspectives. You have the ability to analyze situations and find relevant solutions to the challenges that arise. You have a holistic view, can prioritize, and complete your work on time. You have a pedagogical ability and create clarity in your interactions. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility for your tasks, and function well both in teams and in independent work.
You act in accordance with SiS's core values: respect, care, and clarity — which are the foundation of our interaction principles and our work environment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
At SiS, we care about good employee engagement. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
